Mr Pixel: A Retro Game Store Rebuilt on Shopify
Mr Pixel is an Auckland store selling pre-owned games and consoles, every one cleaned and tested before it ships. I rebuilt its Shopify theme page by page and wrote the growth plan behind it.
- A customized Shopify theme: homepage, product, collection and search pages rebuilt page by page
- Navigation organized around the platforms customers actually shop for
- The Pixel Club sign-up and on-page reviews
- A bulk product upload pipeline that detects platform and edition automatically
- A growth plan built from Shopify sales and Search Console data
Brand Strategy and Web Design
Shopify, Liquid, Search Console and Shopify analytics.
Inked and Faded: A Custom WordPress Theme for a Tattoo Guide Site
Inked and Faded publishes guides on tattoo aftercare, getting a tattoo and tattoo removal. I redesigned it from the ground up and built a custom theme for it, with no page builder.
- One dark, photo-led design across every page
- Equal article cards and a mega menu with photo cards for each topic
- Citations that name their source, and a Sources list on every article
- Five free tools that work even with JavaScript switched off
- A homepage that loads in 29 requests
Rekobyte: A Redesign for a Tech Guide Site
Rekobyte publishes plain-English guides to Windows, smart home tech and everyday devices, plus four free tools. I redesigned the whole site on its existing WordPress and Elementor setup, without touching a single article.
- A sticky header and mega menus for topics and tools
- Articles with their contents beside them, and the next read named on the right
- Featured images shown in full on every card
- Rebuilt About and Contact pages and a newsletter sign-up
- Topic pages that list only their own guides
Web Design and Development
WordPress, Elementor, PHP, CSS and JavaScript.
