About

Content writer and editor, born and based in New Zealand, writing for software companies and publications around the world.

How I Became a Technology Content Writer

My first paid writing was data recovery content: partitions, file systems, and the sinking feeling of a drive that won’t mount. It taught me a habit I’ve kept ever since. If I’m going to tell someone how to fix a problem, I reproduce the problem first.

Four years later, that habit has turned into 450-plus published guides, reviews, and tutorials for brands like CleverFiles, Headphonesty, and Handy Recovery. The subjects range from storage to headphones to consumer software, but the job never changes: take something fiddly and technical, and write it so a stressed person at 11pm can follow it.

I work with editors who want clean copy on deadline, and with small teams who need a writer they don’t have to manage. Either way you get the same thing: accurate work, delivered when promised, that doesn’t read like it came off a content mill.
